Lutz Woodworks LLC and its members have been very active in the North Texas community. Our Vice President and General Manager is active in the community and in the industry. Greg currently sits as a board member for Wylie Northeast SUD, and the Wylie Chamber of Commerce. He has served 6 years on the Texas Architectural Woodworking Institute (TAWI) Board of Directors of which two of them served as President. Greg is a charter member of the Knights of Columbus council 12300 in Wylie. As an active member of the Architectural Woodwork Institute (AWI), Greg has served on several committees to help promote the continuing education of the woodwork industry. Greg is a Gold Level speaker in the AWI Speaker Bureau; he has spoken across the state as well as national events on the AWI Quality Certification Program and the Architectural Woodwork Standards, he provides solid surface fabrication instructions to other millwork shop in the North Texas as well as AIA learning units to registered architects around the state.
Giving back to the community
The owners are all actively involved in their church and their community. Charles and Betty have been active members of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Wylie, Texas and have also served a combined 40 years on the Board of Directors of the local Christian Care Center; where they are still serving. This organization serves the community with food, clothing, household items and a limited amount of cash for those who are in need. Betty developed and implemented the First “Wylie Christian Care Week” which has been carried on in the same tradition now for over 22 years. Their children all attended the Wylie Schools where they participated in many band and sport activities and served as committee members and officers of various organizations. For many years they were active in the Wylie Downtown Merchants Association serving as officers and project chairmen. Betty served on the Board of Directors of the Wylie Chamber of Commerce for three years. At present Charles is an active member of the 4th Degree Knights of Columbus and serves as the District Secretary and on the Exemplary Team. He was instrumental in establishing the K of C Council 12300 at St. Anthony Church and served as its’ Charter Grand Knight. Betty is a Charter member of the CDA Court St. Anthony of Padua Court 2486 and currently serves as its Recording Secretary. In addition Charles and Betty volunteer many hours of service on various other church and community organizations and committees
